Last night I held a little listening party (there were three of us) to listen to Carly Rae Jepsen’s new double LP, Day and Night. I’m a huge CRJ fan, so I was very excited, and had been counting down the days. I don’t know whether I entered with too high expectations—though it seems reasonable to expect a lot when her last four albums, Emotion through The Loveliest Time have been completely unique and bangers that can stand up against any other pop album—or if this just wasn’t that good. The three of us finished the album pretty bummed. I’m hoping it grows on me as I listen more, as most music I like has, but there really were no songs that felt like they stood out to me. Alas
